The Chelsea Dining Club

Welcome to the Chelsea Dining Club, or 'CDC'.

CDC is a regular opportunity to meet others who work in, or live in, Chelsea; or simply have a deep affinity for this, the world's most fascinating borough.

CDC seeks out the borough's best value dining, and through the web-based reviews, subsequently makes these opportunities known to others, for them to enjoy.

CDC aims to informally bring together individuals who appreciate that few things bond better than fine dining, and face to face discourse;around the table. CDC works to enrich and enliven the borough's social opportunities;strengthening the community through conviviality; courteousy of The Chelsea Walks (www.thechelseawalks.com)

Details of planned dining events will be announced at www.thechelseawalks.com/CDC page, and to register/book your place(s) at each event, email gary@thechelseawalks.com; confirming your interest. Availability will be confirmed by return, together with details of the dining event.

CDC looks forward to meeting you, and your friends, and to enjoying together, the best restaurants that the World's most fascinating borough has to offer.

The Chelsea Dining Club

(CDC), had a wonderful second supper-meet up in June, at the historic Anglesea Arms' dining room, near Old Brompton Road, and all present agreed the third (quarterly) even,t should be scheduled for September 21st.

The emphasis on these evenings is relaxed conviviality, where all those with a connection to, and love of Chelsea, can share that interest; while making new friends and, by way of *bonus, learning ever more about the 'World's most fascinating borough', over a delicious supper at one of its many wonderful eateries. Do feel free to bring a guest to what are wonderfully open, and welcoming social occasions.

CDC suppers are normally at 7 for 7.30; but for those who are free, a short (30-45 minutes) guided, and *complimentary Chelsea Walk, can sometimes be offered to diners prior to the 7.30 start time-the perfect opportunity to build appetite, knowledge and effect introductions! Full details will be posted on this page shortly, about the next venue, and if it sounds appealing,do email (gary@thechelseawalks.com), if you would like to attend.

See you then, or on one of the Chelsea Walks!

1st Chelsea Dining Club (CDC) event review.

CDC’s first supper event was held at Rocca di Pappa, SW7, with a mouth watering, bespoke three course menu, and all the attention manager ‘Moris’, and his staff could lavish.

I’m wary of ‘homemade’; especially at restaurants. Whose home, I ask myself?!  But Rocca reassures. The quality of all the ingredients for the menu(s) including organic spelt bread, and fresh organic pasta; are prepared entirely on site. Each of our dishes tasted better than they looked, and they looked fabulous!

The smell of Italian cooking has rarely been as authentic, and as close to the in-Italy experience, while the restrained and very stylish décor never obstructs, but compliment the food; ensuring the conviviality, that naturally follows.

CDC is very grateful to all at Rocca who made the first event such a success, and look forward to the next event in due course. If you live or work (or have), in Chelsea, or simply love the ‘world’s most fascinating borough’, and want to register an interest in joining us at CDC (no fees), just email: gary@thechelseawalks.com, or visit the website: www.thechelseawalks.com ; discovering the whole range of Chelsea Walks at the same moment!

See you soon. -Gary

The Chelsea Dining Club's sixth (CDC6) monthly lunch meet-up is on Sunday 24th March, at 1pm, at The Ram pub; on the corner of Uverdale Road and Burnaby Street (SW10 OPL).
This is your chance to meet, eat drink, and 'talk Chelsea', in a relaxed, and altogether Sunday afternoon mode!
The famous Lots Road Auctions, you may have heard of, but have you any idea where the name originates?. Well, join us, and you'll not only discover this, but, if you can make it for 12.30, I'll be leading a free 30 minute taster Walk around 'Cremorne'; the extra-ordinary 'slummy end', of this, the World's most fascinating borough.
Text/call/vmail your RSVP (07500 239 617), asap, and look for The Chelsea Walks table, from where we'll set off at 12.30. If you prefer the meet-eat-drink and talk option, Gill, one of our previous Walkers, has recently produced a DVD of Cremorne Pleasure Gardens. She'll be on hand to entertain and enchant, so come and celebrate Spring (at last!), at CDC6.
See you then, or on any of the four regular Walks
